Katrina Kaif to lose weight for Dhoom 3

Being the Dhoom girl doesn't come easy. Actresses have transformed themselves overnight to be the sensuous bikini donning divas for YRF's prized franchise before. Now, it is Katrina Kaif's turn.

Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Kat too is going out of her way to get into a better shape. For Dhoom 3 that goes on floors this July, Kat has already planned a hard-core gymnastic training session. She is also following a strict macrobiotic diet plan.

Talking about the diet, a friend of Katrina informed Mumbai Mirror, "The diet is high in natural, unprocessed foods. It has a lot of complex carbohydrates and vegetables. It's low in saturated fats. It could be considered a weight loss diet since it has a potentially lower calorie count. However, macrobiotic is a way of life. It's not just another weight loss fad. The diet will help her with her stamina."

With the diet in place, Katrina's training too has begun. In fact, the actress, who is currently shooting for her other YRF venture Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan in Cuba, has been taking time off from her schedule for the exercise routine. She has also hired a trainer for herself.

Though she had categorically said no to donning a bikini, she had to go ahead with a steamy kiss with co-actor Hrithik Roshan.

Dabangg 2 all set to clash with Dhoom 3

Yash Raj Films had set the release date of the third installment of their Dhoom series for December 2012. The movie will see Aamir Khan in a negative role along with Abhishek Bachchan, Katirna Kaif and Uday Chopra.

Now, Arbaaz Khan -- director and producer of Dabangg 2 -- has tweeted that his film will release in December 2012 too.

He says "Dabangg 2 starts March 2012 and releases on 21 Dec 2012 !!!"

It'll be interesting to see good friends, Aamir and Salman Khan, fight it out at the box office.

Katrina's Dhoom3 to release in 2013 to avoid Dabangg 2 clash

The much awaited release of Dhoom: 3 has now been shifted to 2013. This has been necessitated because of various production and post-production considerations.

While the shoot begins from end-November 2011, the producers are worried about the 10 to 11 months of intense shooting with concurrent post-production, which may also get extended and which in turn will be cutting it too fine for a Christmas 2012 release. Also, Dabangg 2 starts March 2012 and releases on 21 Dec 2012 as per Arbaaz Khan

In view of this and keeping the interest of the audience expectations from Dhoom:3, both Aditya Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor) in consultation with Aamir, have decided to delay the release of the film to 2013.

Speaking about this, Victor said, "DHOOM:3 is very dear to all of us as well as to its audience who expect only the best from the franchise. While the shooting will finish in time, we expect the post-production to take much longer. We are trying our best to give one of the finest cinematic experiences to our discerning audience and therefore did not want to compromise the quality of the film just to meet the release date."

Produced by Aditya Chopra, DHOOM:3 will be written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who has written DHOOM 1 & 2. He has also written and directed Tashan.

Both Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will continue in their now iconic roles of Jai Dixit and Ali.

Katrina Kaif turns singer for Dhoom 3

Katrina Kaif's dream of taking her mother, brother and sisters on a long vacation has to be put on hold for the time being.

After completing the current schedule of Ek Tha Tiger in Dublin, the actress will have to start preparing for her character in Dhoom 3 in the month that she had kept aside for her family holiday.

According to sources, Katrina has received an urgent return-to-duty call from Yashraj Films to not just learn some heavy-duty stunts but also exercise her vocal cords for her role in the sequel to Dhoom.

The actress will need to undertake para gliding lessons and a full-fledged singing course for the project. "Katrina has to go one up on the last Dhoom heroine Aishwarya Rai. That's a tall order in itself," informed a source.

Katrina, who had been planning to sing for Ali Zaqfar's album has yet been uninitiated into the realm of music. This will be the first time Katrina will sing for herself in a film.

Apart from the singing, Katrina it seems has a lot of pending work for the same film. She will need to discuss with Aditya Chopra and director Vijay Krishna Acharya about the look, body language, spoken language and attitude of her character in the project.

In fact, the singing portions of her character are now being worked out, waiting for Katrina to come down and lend her voice. Katrina remained unavailable for comment.

It's not just the bikini that Katrina Kaif has a problem with in Dhoom 3. It is learnt that Kat is now expressing her reservation over a kiss scene as well.

While the franchise had a kissing scene in the last film between Hrithik and Aishwarya, this time around, Kaif is putting in a special request to do away with the scene. Will Aditya Chopra give in?

She might have had to wear a bikini in her debut film Boom in 2003.

But it seems that Katrina, who is relatively newer in the industry, is taken as seriously as veteran actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Reportedly Katrina, who has signed on to Dhoom 3, managed to get Aditya Chopra to agree to her terms that two of the former leading ladies (Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu) of the YRF franchise had no say in. Aditya seems to have given in to Kat's terms, just like he did for Ash in Dhoom 2.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror that initially Aditya had categorically told Katrina that she would be required to wear a bikini in the film. In the past too, YRF had got Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu to don the two-piece swimwear for Dhoom and Dhoom 2 respectively. "Whether they did it willingly or reluctantly, nobody knows. But Katrina was extremely reluctant," said the source.

The source explained that there was a lot of back and forth between Aditya and Kat before the decision was taken. The source added, "Aditya is very fond of Katrina and they are very good friends. He had other options, including a few foreign actresses, but Katrina towered above all those options. Katrina managed to convince Aditya that it was not necessary for her to wear a bikini in the film."

Talking about the entire bikini issue, another source informed us, "Aditya is not even disappointed. In fact, he is very happy that Katrina is on board. Bikini ka problem shayyad ek hi reason tha that he took so long to finalise the female lead in the film."

Justifying her no-bikini stance, a friend of Katrina said, "Today, Katrina is a big star. She adds tremendous value to a project. She is justified in her reservations, if any, when she signs a film."
