Fantastic working with Katrina: Salman

Please share Bookmark and Share

Salman Khan last worked with rumoured ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif in 2008 for Subhash Ghai’s Yuvvraaj. After almost five years, the duo is now working on another romantic film — Ek Tha Tiger. Bring up their pairing and Salman says, “It has been fantastic working with Katrina after such a long time.”

At the launch of History Channel’s new show History Har Din in the city on Friday, the actor, who is the face of the channel, goes on to joke about his relationship with his co-star in his inimitable style. “I’m working with Katrina, so that’s history been created right there,” he says, in jest.

Though both the actors have recently returned to the country after completing a long shooting schedule of the Kabir Khan film in Cuba, Salman still has some patchwork pending. “It’s a romantic movie, but it has lots of action and I have a few days of work left,” he says, adding that he would love to revisit Cuba soon. “It’s a fantastic place to shoot at. I went to many places during my stay and I would love to go back for leisure.”

Meanwhile, he is also preparing to begin work on Dabangg 2, the sequel to his 2010 box-office hit. “I am going to start shooting for that on March 9,” says the actor, who will be directed by older brother Arbaaz Khan this time.

Sonakshi Sinha will reprise her role as Salman’s love interest in the film, and Prakash Raj has been roped in to play the villain.

Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan
The shooting of Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Ek Tha Tiger is currently underway in Cuba.
We stumbled across some pictures on Khan's fan club Facebook account, which showed the former couple taking in the sights in Cuba in a very sexy convertible.

Katrina Kaif shops in Cuba

During her stay in Cuba for Ek Tha Tiger, Katrina Kaif spent time shopping and trying out the local delicacies.

The actress was spotted at numerous malls and flea markets picking up accessories and clothes. While Kabir Khan kept her company on some outings, Kat made trips on her own as well. It seems Kat was so taken by Cuban culture and fashion that she has asked Kabir to keep more schedules of the film in Central America.

Salman Khan praises Katrina Kaif

Salman Khan had to coax his Ek Tha Tiger co-star Katrina Kaif to give her best takes for the particularly intense scenes.

If she got it right in one take, he would take her out for dinner that night. Kat believed him and gave it her best. So was Sallu a Khan of his word? Apparently so. Our source says that during their stay in Istan-bul, he took her out on every single night to various restaurants in town.

Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger poster copied?

The romantic thriller is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra. This will be Kabir's third collaboration with the banner. Ek Tha Tiger would hit the theatres in 2012.

http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/HTEditImages/Images/ek-tha-tiger-copied-poster.jpgNow, there's buzz online that poster isn't an original idea after all. It’s being alleged that the poster, if not copied, is inspired from the poster of a video game.

The image below has been doing the rounds on social networking sites.

Pics: The Most Anticipated Hindi Films Of 2012

Bookmark and Share

We take a look at the promising Hindi movies to watch out for in 2012.
It came. It saw. It got over.

2011 in Bollywood left an unsatisfactory taste in the mouth with most of last year's anticipated fare turning out to be damp squibs.
Nonetheless, optimism is the hallmark of a new year. One can always hope Bollywood will learn from its past mistakes and give us something insightful, intelligent and incredible to swoon over.
On that promising note, take a glance at some of the keenly awaited Hindi films of 2012:
Agneepath

Movie poster of Agneepath

Dharma Productions take a break from phoren-shot posh, urban sagas to produce a gritty remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Agneepath with a cool line-up of stars like Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
As far as promos go, including item girl Katrina Kaif in a feistier-than-thou avatar, the high-strung revenge drama, directed by newbie Karan Malhotra, looks nothing like the usual KJo fare.

And while purists may scowl, the modern-day Agneepath is packaged to please with its larger-than-life feud between Krrish and Khalnayak.

Talaash

A scene from Talaash
Any Aamir Khan film is accompanied with a fair bit of curiosity. And if it includes Kareena and Rani Mukerji, the enthusiasm decibel just gets higher.

All the better if it's written by the talent duo of friends and filmmakers -- Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
Kagti, who made her debut with Honeymoon Travel Pvt Ltd, also directs this suspense thriller for which the perfectionist Khan specially grew a moustache to make an effective, believable cop.

Talaash has a lot going in its favour; let's hope it scores just the same.

Rowdy Rathore

Movie poster of Rowdy Rathore
Farce overkill out of the way, Akshay Kumar's back to kicking butt with Rowdy Rathore.

And if the poster is anything to go by, it looks like a lot of fun too.
Keeping in the tradition of remaking action-packed South Indian hits, RR is an official adaptation of Telugu flick, Vikramarkudu and stars the Khiladi in a double role, a feat he earlier accomplished in films like Jai KishenAflatoon and 8x10 Tasveer.

Moreover, it's helmed by dancing sensation turned director Prabhudeva, responsible for Salman Khan's indissoluble commitment in Wanted, again a remake of the Tamil blockbuster, Pokkiri.

Ek Tha Tiger

Movie poster of Ek Tha Tiger
With back-to-back money spinners to his credit, it is now widely believed that Salman Khan can do no wrong.

Can Ek Tha Tiger follow suit? It just might.
The Dhinka chika star sticks to dishoom-dishoom under Kabir Khan's (Kabul ExpressNew York) refined sensibilities to play an undercover RAW agent globetrotting to save the world from the clutches of evil in Yash Raj's action-romance co-starring Katrina Kaif.

Agent Vinod

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in Agent Vinod
Saif Ali Khan's ambitious espionage thriller has been in the making forever.

It featured in our last year's most-awaited list too. The delay, thankfully, hasn't diminished our interest in seeing what director Sriram Raghavan (Ek Hasina Thi,Johnny Gaddar) has in store.
Raghavan's deft filmmaking skills combined with Saif's suave persona and girlfriend Kareena Kapoor's currently numero uno status lends Agent Vinod a picture-perfect appeal on paper.

Will it translate to big screen as well? We'll soon find out.

Yash Chopra's untitled next

Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif
Love stories are Yash Chopra's forte.

The veteran filmmaker returns to direction after a seven-year break since Veer-Zaara to weave yet another celebration of romance and relationships with his new untitled film starring his favourite Shah Rukh Khan alongside Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
Other than SRK-Katrina's untried pairing, there's a tremendous excitement about the soundtrack as well.

Chopra Sr's discerning ear for music collaborates with the Oscar-winning team of composer A R Rahman and poet Gulzar to produce some phenomenal score.

Heroine

Kareena Kapoor on the sets of Heroine
After Tabu (Chandni Bar), Raveena Tandon (Satta), Konkona Sen Sharma (Page 3), Bipasha Basu (Corporate) and Priyanka Chopra (Fashion), Madhur Bhandarkar is all set to explore the highs and lows in the life of an actress with Kareena Kapoor in and as Heroine.
Previously started with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan amidst much fanfare in Cannes,Heroine met with a bit of a setback after its leading lady learned about her pregnancy.

Bhandarkar heaved a sigh of relief after signing on Bebo for a remuneration that earned her the Highest Paid Bollywood Actress title.

Let's see if it will bring her a National Award as well.

Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola

Anushka Sharma and Imran Khan
Vishal Bhardwaj didn't quite hit the mark with his last offering, 7 Khoon Maaf.

That's hardly a reason not to feel kicked about his oddly titled upcoming rustic comedy with Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma and Pankaj Kapur. Although it's bizarre to imagine Imran in a role originally meant for Ajay Devgn, Bhardwaj is known to produce fine results with the most unlikely choices.

Remember Langda Tyagi?
As of now, Imran's gymming out with bulky pahelwans at local akhadas, like only his uncle would, to achieve a rugged physicality. Sounds fun, yeah?

Gangs Of Wasseypur

Manoj Bajpai
One expects nothing short of pounding, uncompromised vision from director Anurag Kashyap's latest, Gangs of Wasseypur.

Set in Jharkhand, the crime caper delves into the mafia's hold around the coal mines of Dhanbad.
With a cast of compelling actors led by Manoj Bajpai, Gangs..., with its Godfather-ish undertones and Kashyap treatment promises to be recommended viewing.  And it comes out in two parts.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Sonam Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar
Adapting the extraordinary life of Indian athlete Milkha Singh aka The Flying Sikh on big screen is a project close to Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's heart.

Following rigorous research on the sports legend, the Rang De Basanti director zeroed in actors Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor to play the key roles in his under production biopic.
Although it's not a cast we are truly confident about, risks have a way of paying off. And for Mehra's sake, let's hope it's doesn't meet the fate of Delhi 6.

Shanghai

Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol
With the pressure of completing a hatrick of incredible movies (Khosla Ka GhoslaOye Lucky Lucky Oye and Love Sex Aur Dhoka) off him, Dibakar Banerjee dabbles with a new genre in Shanghai.

Considering Banerjee's knack for constructing intriguing characters and incisive story-telling, one can expect quality filmmaking in this political thriller based on Greek writer Vassilis Vassilikos's novel, interspersed with an interesting mix of actors like Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, Pitobash and Kalki Koechlin.

Student Of The Year

Movie poster of Student Of The Year
Just when you thought Karan Johar is all about established stars; he resolves to hone fresh talent in his campus caper, Student of the Year.

And if this turns out anything like the frolic generated by Rahul, Anjali and Tina inKuch Kuch Hota Hai, we have a sure shot winner.
Co-produced by his superstar friend, Shah Rukh Khan, Student of the Yearintroduces a bunch of celebrity kids like Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan's daughter Alia and David Dhawan's son Varun alongside model Siddharth Malhotra.

Barfee

A scene from Barfee
Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Janardhan-goes-Jordan in Rockstar was one of the most unanimously loved performances of 2011.

Obviously when an actor's this delightful to watch, his next release is bound to find prominence in any most-anticipated compilation.
His next, Anurag Basu's Barfee is a tender story documenting the interactions between a hearing-impaired individual and a mentally-challenged girl (Priyanka Chopra).

We spy more accolades.

Kahaani

Movie poster of Kahaani
The Ooh la la lady returns with a bulging belly yet again.

Only this time Vidya Balan is an expecting mother in search of her missing husband. This pretty much sums up the premise of Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani.
Given the Parineeta star's uninterrupted flow of superlative performances and box-office hits, Kahaani is already carrying a good deal of buzz.

Rumoured to take inspiration from Quentin Tarantino's Kill BillKahaani reunites Vidya with her The Dirty Picture co-star Emraan Hashmi.

The Sequels

Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar
Bollywood's sequel fever reaches an all-time high with as many as half a dozen follow-ups lined up for release.

So whether you like it or not, there's Hrithik Roshan taking his supernatural strength to a new level in Krrish 2 whereas Akshay Kumar gets into gangster mode to narrate Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2.
Salman's Chulbul Pandey gets in the middle of implausible action with characteristic wit and swagger in Dabangg 2.
And Sajid Khan continues to find humour in Housefull 2 even as Race 2 andRaaz 3 continue to prosper despite bashing reviews.

Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 2' will overpower 'Ek Tha Tiger'?

Please share Bookmark and Share

On his birthday, astro-numerologist predicts that from Salman Khan's upcoming films in 2012, 'Dabangg 2' will be a step ahead of 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

He may have done some serious wrongs in his real life in the past, but nothing can take away from the fact that people are just 'Ready' to accept the 'Dabangg' man in any avatar. On the eve of his birthday, we ask astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi to find out what's in store for Salman Khan - the most charismatic star of Bollywood for the upcoming year 2012.

"Salman was born on 27th December 1965 which makes him a Number 9 ( Mars) person in numerology. He is a Capricorn (ruler Saturn - Number 8) and his destiny number adds up to Number 6 (Venus)", explains Bhavikk.

"Being ruled by Number 9, Salman is a tough nut to crack. He is firm with his decisions but can get impulsive at times which he should be wary of. Being ruled by Number 8 (Saturn) he has knowingly or unknowingly put himself in trouble most of the times and been there at the wrong side of the law. But this is the same 'shani' which has given him tremendous success, popularity and love of the people all around the world. With the right balance of mind and looking at things more rationally, he can actually improve his personal life more as Number 6 (Venus) indicates a good marriage life and his family loving nature", explains Bhavikk.

"The coming year 2012 adds up to Number 5 (Mercury) and Salman will be entering in his 47th year which indicates unnecessary delays in his life whatsoever", predicts Bhavikk. "His work assignments may not get complete on time and schedules might go haywire sometimes due to his fault and at times due to other technical reasons as well. Even his love life will remain more or less dry with no sign of concrete relationship happening anytime soon"

"But on the film front, his next release ' Ek Tha Tiger' in the Eid of 2012 would prove to be a profitable venture as the film title (sums up to Number 32) vibrates well with the year 2012. However Number 5 is usually not lucky for Number 9 people and hence the film may not be able to exceed the collections of ' Dabangg 2' which will turn out to be a 'bigger hit' in comparison when it comes to pure box office figures", signs off Bhavikk on a clear cut note.

Salman Khan studying nuclear physics

Please share Bookmark and Share

For his role in Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan is doing full research. The thriller has him in the role of a scientist blamed for leaking secrets about nuclear weapons from Britain to Pakistan.

For this role, he needed to know the background of nuclear science and so he read up material on nuclear physics. He also had lengthy conversations about the subject with director Kabir Khan and experts. We would've never pegged Salman as a method actor. It must be the effect of his dosti with Aamir Khan. But we don't think we would be able to handle another perfectionist in the industry.

Katrina Kaif shakes her booty for money!

Please share Bookmark and Share

Katrina Kaif, who is currently shooting for 'Ek Tha Tiger' with Salman Khan, is being widely applauded.

After all, she seems to be bitten by the Salman bug, and is offering to do an item number in all her dear and near one's films - the latest being a promise she made to Arjun Kapoor, her Rakhi brother and son of Boney Kapoor, who also happens to be the producer of 'Wanted' and its sequel which is yet to be made.

However, an insider informs us that her generosity and benevolence indeed has a hidden agenda: One hit song means loads of moolah for actors. They include the songs in their world tours, perform on them and make a lot of money. Also, actresses often are proposed one-act contracts, where they come for a few minutes, dance to a song and are paid a bomb! Item numbers means more money!

Now, is that the reason Kat is offering to shake her booty for free on the silver screen? We are told, "Katrina surely knows the popularity and the effect of a good item song to one's credit after 'Sheila Ki Jawani'. It's a win-win situation for both. While Arjun's film will benefit from it, it's Katrina who'll benefit more if the number is rocking."
